Suria KLCC Sets Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week 2026 in Motion with RR by Rizman Ruzaini

Suria KLCC opened Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week (KLFW) 2026 in style on Monday, 3 August, presenting the official opening show of the 14th edition through its esteemed retail partner, RR by Rizman Ruzaini. Held at the Esplanade, KLCC Park, “Suria KLCC presents RR by Rizman Ruzaini” unveiled the label’s Cruise 2026 collection, RR Vol 4: Heritage in Motion, to a full house of 500-strong guests, kicking off a week-long celebration of Malaysian fashion under this year’s theme, Destination: Home Ground.

From left_Ruzaini, KLFW founder Andrew Tan, Suria KLCC CFO Penny Chua, Datuk Mohd Salem Kailany, Francis Tan, Suria KLCC General Manager Ameer Thajudeen and Rizman at the opening showcase of KLFW 2026

True to its title, Heritage in Motion drew on Malaysia’s nostalgic streetscapes for its inspiration,
with a runway presentation and event styling built around motifs of trishaws, bicycle gears and
vintage travel – a visual love letter to a bygone era of Malaysian mobility, reimagined through RR’s signature contemporary silhouettes. Staged inside KLFW’s newly reimagined show hall – a monochromatic, heritage-inspired structure adapted from archival batik prints from Yayasan
Sabah – the collection was presented on an all-white, hourglass-shaped runway before an
audience of industry figures, media and fashion enthusiasts, with the show simultaneously
broadcast live on a large LED screen to shoppers across Suria KLCC.

The opening night drew a distinguished turnout, including Datuk Sr Mohd. Salem Kailany, Group Chief Executive Officer of KLCC (Holdings) Sdn Bhd, Francis Tan, Executive Director and CEO of Suria KLCC Sdn Bhd, and KLFW Founder Andrew Tan, underscoring the significance of RR by Rizman Ruzaini’s selection to steer this year’s opening showcase. With almost two decades in the industry behind them, Rizman Nordin and Ruzaini Wan Jamil made it a fitting choice to set the tone for a week that, this year, sees the duo return for a rare double feature – with a second showcase following later that same evening.

Francis Tan, Executive Director and CEO of Suria KLCC Sdn Bhd, said the opening show reflected the calibre of the retail partnership Suria KLCC has built with the label, “Rizman Ruzaini represents a great success story within the Malaysian fashion industry, and we are proud to count them among our esteemed retail partners here at Suria KLCC. Entrusting them with the opening show is a reflection of the platform we have built, and the standard Suria KLCC continues to set for Malaysian fashion. Heritage in Motion captured exactly what Destination: Home Ground is about – taking what is distinctly Malaysian and giving it a stage worthy of the world. It set the perfect tone for what promises to be an unforgettable week of Malaysian creativity.”

A Sporting Way of Life Collection From UNIQLO & JW ANDERSON

Global apparel retailer UNIQLO is launching A Sporting Way of Life collection from UNIQLO and JW ANDERSON on April 7 2023. The Spring/Summer 2023 range continues to reinterpret quintessential British style through JW ANDERSON’s elegant and playful lens, taking inspiration from the traditional sports of British universities.
Designer Jonathan Anderson commented that “This season reworks our idea of classic sportswear, such as a traditional cricket jumper alongside technical sports leggings or hand-drawn traditional British sporting team motifs on utility shorts and more traditional knitted polo shirts.”
Comfortable and functional preppy styling

A Sporting Way of Life redraws classic sportswear. A good example is the women’s Cricket Cardigan with athletic uniform-inspired lines, in a light cotton-linen blend that is comfortably cool, as well as the women’s and men’s AirSense Blazer, which features for the first time in the collaboration line. The collection reimagines these iconic British preppy items in the innovative lightweight, stretchy, quick-dry fabric, finished with the original JW ANDERSON logo button.

UNIQLO x MARNI Collection

Yukihiro Katsuta, Fast Retailing Group Senior Executive Officer and Head of R&D for UNIQLO, commented “Last season, there was an overwhelming response to the first UNIQLO and MARNI collection, and a lot of customers could be seen wearing the items around town. It felt as though the collection matched the needs of people looking for fashion that allowed them to shake off the oppressive mood of recent years. The theme of this second collection was the joy of being wrapped up. This was expressed through the UNIQLO product synonymous with winter, HEATTECH; knits, which are in especially demand amidst customer feedback; and accessories. I hope customers will enjoy the high quality and creativity of the latest UNIQLO and MARNI collection and the artistry it brings to everyday wear.”
Francesco Risso, Creative Director at MARNI, said, “Following on from 22SS, I am excited to be able to announce this winter collection. Through our creative process, we were able to faithfully maintain the pragmatism UNIQLO’s design philosophy and transpose MARNI’s aesthetic into impeccably designed LifeWear. Through this collection, I wanted to investigate the aesthetic perception of the 60’s, flirting with clichés. Patterns continue to inform everyone’s idea of Marni – as they sit at the core of our vocabulary and identify our graphic language. This time, though, we transposed those psychedelic patterns onto garments that unapologetically define the body, creating an enigmatic interplay of prints and anatomy that defines the silhouette.”
Graphic, color, and form born from synergy

The creativity of MARNI shines through in layering that interweaves graphic prints, vivid colors, and organic three-dimensional forms. UNIQLO winter staple HEATTECH products have been interpreted with 1960s psychedelic prints and color block designs. Down outerwear with voluminous cocoon silhouettes can be layered over knits in neon green, orange, and saffron yellow. Hugging HEATTECH, and shell-like down outerwear that envelops the body keep the wearer warm on winter days.
