Celebrate The Kool-est Raya Ever @ Sunway Lagoon

Arguably the biggest festive season in Malaysia, Hari Raya is celebrated extravagantly by all Malaysians. Joining the celebration, Sunway Lagoon welcomes guests to its ‘Kool Raya’ campaign from 15 – 24 June 2018 to celebrate the Kool-est Raya ever!

Guests will be greeted with the Kool Raya Welcoming Dance and Sunway Lagoon’s Captain Quack and Lady Quack who will flaunt their wacky Joget Lambak moves! A total of 3,000 Raya packets with vouchers will be given out to all visitors from 15 – 17 June 2018 and one (1) lucky winner will walk away with a surprise FAMFun package voucher worth RM368 every day!

Head on to the Raya Bazaar at the Surf Beach from 12pm – 4pm during the ten-day celebration to indulge in Raya delicacies (Lemang and Ketupat), and partake in a series of fun games and activities such as the Giant Jenga, Anyam Ketupat, 4D Twister, Henna Mehndi and the Tornado Blast Challenge that promises a whirlwind of fun. Younger theme park goers will have their share of fun as they get the opportunity to take a photo with Baby Shark cut-out characters at the PinkFong Baby Shark Bash. Cool things up further and receive a pair of Kool Shades upon purchase of a Baby Shark Combo Meal or PinkFong Baby Shark Ice Cream! There will be special appearances by everyone’s favourite Nickelodeon characters including SpongeBob SquarePants, Patrick Star, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dora the Explorer and Boots.

Sunway Lagoon’s First White Tiger Cubs Unveilled!

In conjunction with the upcoming school holidays, guests will have the chance to see Sunway Lagoon’s newest and adorable additions: a pair of 4-month old white tiger cubs, Sam and Elsa, the first white tiger cubs born in captivity during the Walk & Hunt in the Wild campaign (17 – 25 March 2018).

Cubs to Samson and Asha, the majestic icy blue-eyed white tiger beauties at Sunway Lagoon’s Wildlife Park that were brought into the park in August 2016, the cubs are already showing their distinct characteristics and behaviour. Sam has denser stripes on his forehead with a playful and affectionate side, while Elsa has sparser stripes on her forehead, who loves sneaking from behind and eager to explore new things and people. Guests will have the chance to Meet & Greet with the White Tiger cubs at Tigerland during the school holidays at 10:30am, 12:30pm and 4:30pm.

The Walk & Hunt in the Wild campaign features an interactive Scavenger Hunt activity, designed to broaden one’s knowledge about the wildlife comprising of riddles and a photo hunt which will bring guests through the Wildlife Park, home to over 150 species of animals. Begin the edutaining journey by registering at Tigerland at 1:00pm and Wildlife Theatre at 3:30pm (on a first come first serve basis) and collecting the Scavenger Hunt Kit which includes an activity booklet, postcard map, hand sanitizer, Cadbury 5 Star chocolates, and exclusive Sunway Lagoon ticket redemption coupon.

Upon completion of the hunt, guests will be presented with a certificate of participation at Rimba. Families and friends will also be entertained the most talented bunch of animals at the Wildlife Theatre’s Wildlife Multi-Animal Show. Guests can also take the chance to bring home wildlife-themed merchandise as part of their font memories at Rimba during the school holidays from 1pm – 6pm daily.

Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon Turns One!

It has been a whole year since Sunway Lagoon introduced Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon (NLL), Asia’s first Nickelodeon branded attraction right in its own compound. Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon is our family’s most loved park in Sunway Lagoon as the rides are fun and excited. My kids and I can spend a whole day just at Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon itself.

From Sat, 18^th March till Sun, 26^th March 2017, Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon will take on a birthday party-like atmosphere, which the whole family will find truly extraordinary for nine days. Right from the time they step foot at the Main Entrance, visitors will be greeted by celebratory bubbles every morning from 10am to 10.30am. Once inside the park, there will be fun and games which everyone can look forward to including Colour Ball Bingo, Slime Dunk Tank and a Bubble Field.

Meanwhile, at the Explorer’s Campsite, there will be a daily Birthday Party from 3pm to 4pm where kids and the young at heart can experience and enjoy even more party games, face painting and temporary tattoos. Each guest will also receive a birthday party pack, balloons and a birthday cupcake. The party will end with the daily ‘Great Slime Deluge’ at 4pm.

There will also be appearances by everyone’s favourite Nickelodeon characters including SpongeBob SquarePants, Patrick Star, Dora The Explorer, Boots and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Visitors will also have the photography opportunity thanks to various backdrop setups and cutouts that will be placed at Sunway Lagoon’s Piazza area and strategic locations around the park. They also stand the chance to win FAMFun packages and SpongeBob Run Tickets when they share their best photos on the social media contest, ‘It’s Time to Celebrate!’

Ghostbuster Blast into Sunway Lagoon

Everyone in town is talking about Ghostbuster! As a trend setter, how could I miss this right? So, last Saturday I had visited Sunway Lagoon to experience the scary Ghosts and Ghouls and share with you my experience. The Harris Scream Park unveiled the first Ghostbusters attraction of its kind in the world, The Ghostbusters Adventure Live!

Ghostbusters inclusion into the park marks the biggest annual investment to date since the launch of Scream Park some seven years ago. Among the highlights of this latest attraction is the interaction between visitors and a cast of live actors who play seasoned ‘Ghostbusters’ and ‘ghosts’.

“Sunway Lagoon is excited to have such an internationally acclaimed attraction such as Ghostbusters. At Sunway Lagoon we are constantly working to provide our guests with the latest and the best. The Ghostbusters Adventure-Live! provides park-goers and fans alike with a unique and interactive journey through the Ghostbusters world,” said Calvin Ho, Senior General Manager of Sunway Theme Parks.

The attraction occupies the entire top level of Scream Park and takes visitors through a 20-minute harrowing journey through locations based on the relaunch of the movie.

The journey kicks-off at the Slimer’s pad, filled with cool Ghostbusters memorabilia, followed by Aldridge Mansion – New York’s oldest private home and museum, where a tour guide will introduce the spooky story of Gertrude Aldridge.

A detour takes visitors to New York Subway’s Seward Street Station and alight to visit Old Zhu’s Chinese Restaurant, the new headquarters of the new all-female Ghostbusters. Rowan’s basement is next on the agenda, followed by the infamous Mercado Hotel, set in iconic Times Square in New York, where guests will face a spooky, scary and slimy finale to their journey.

Masters of Trickery @ Sunway Lagoon’s Amphitheatre

One of the most anticipating programme during year end school holiday for my daughters is the show at Sunway Lagoon’s Amphitheatre. From Aladdin, Snow White to dancing show, it would always entertain us in the long holiday. And for this year, Sunway Lagoon presented us the first ever TRIKSTARS – Masters of Trickery at Sunway Lagoon’s Amphitheatre.

The show featured internationally acclaimed magicians and illusionists showcasing their unique blend of spectacular stunts, magic, and comedy as they enthralled audiences throughout the 2 hour show filled with entertaining 3D effects, amazing stage props, and breathtaking pyro techniques.

A total of seven performers, from Las Vegas and Europe, graced the stage delighting audiences with wonder and comedy. Phelston Jones captivated audience members with his mix of magic and satire while American magician Sylvester the Jester dazzled viewers as he brought a cartoon character to life.

King Charles Troupe played an unbelievable game of high-energy basketball played entirely on unicycles baffling spectators. Magus Utopia introduced a darker edge to the show with their unique combination of storytelling, strong visuals and illusions in Nightmares. Award winning dance couple Sebastian and Kristina showcased their artistry via their dance and magical transformations.

The ‘Coolest Magician on Earth’ Rudy Colby proofed to be a treat for the audience, while famed songstress, J’aime Holland sang her hits to the delight of her fans.

Catch LumiAir – A Cirque Sensation at Amphitheatre, Sunway Lagoon This School Holiday

For the very first time in Malaysia, LumiAir – A Cirque Sensation finally made its much anticipated debut at Amphitheatre, Sunway Lagoon thrilling audiences from all ages throughout its two-hour performance.

Sunway Lagoon Presents Nights of Frights 2. Join My Giveaway To Win Exclusive Passes to #NOFSL

Sunway Lagoon Premieres Sixth Musical Production with Live Musicians - Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs the Musical

Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the fairest one of all? One of the most beloved fairytales of all time premiered at the Amphitheatre @ Sunway Lagoon recently! Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs the Musical is Sunway Lagoon’s sixth musical and will be playing at the Amphitheatre from 7 December 2013 until 1 January 2014.

Aside from the prominent features of the evil queen, the massive magical mirror and the seven adorable dwarfs, Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs the Musical will be featuring a nine-piece orchestra under the direction of David Laugharne. Following the immense success of having live musicians perform in the previous musicals, the breathtaking songs performed live by the cast members are set to thrill audiences and enhance the overall musical watching experience.

You read that right! The all-time favorite fairytale, Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs the Musical has arrived at the multi-award winning attraction Sunway Lagoon, and members of the media get a first-hand preview to see the exciting preparations for the extravaganza production! 

Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs is an all-time popular storyline that stays in the hearts of the public. Prominent features such as the evil Queen, the poison apple, the magical mirror and not forgetting the seven dwarfs are all set to be showcased as Sunway Lagoon’s sixth musical production. 

“With the aim to provide guests with memorable experiences, our musicals have always been a magical and collaborative effort between international and local talents. Kiss Me Party at Sunway Lagoon

Carmen and I woke up extremely early on a Saturday morning last month to the Kiss Me Party at Sunway Lagoon.

Sunway Lagoon was full house that day, People Mountain People Sea as many other companies were having family day events there too.

We had some eye makeup done before taking the challenge set by the Lagoon’s event team.

4 of us were in the “Octopus” group – Me, Carmen, Ashley and Wendy. Cute Ashley created our team name “Octopus” and the shout “Pus Pus Pus, we are Pctopus” lol

We run around Sunway Lagoon with sweat and laugh. Too bad Ashley got to leave for her bus to Penang before the event ended.

The team has managed to complete 7 games out of 8 games, and we were the third team to check in the finish point. Just while we thought we would be the top 3, and suddenly we were informed that we only got the Consolation prize, we were confused. At last, we found out that one of the coupons was folded in the letter and hide inside the envelope, and hence we only passed back 6 coupons and not all the 7 of them. We became consolation prize winners for this careless mistake, morale of the story: Don’t panic and always double and triple check for every work you have done.
