MamyPoko Unveils World’s First Anti-Mosquito Diaper

My trusted diaper brand, MamyPoko launched its latest MamyPoko Extra Dry Protect diaper, the world’s first mosquito repelling diaper that utilises patented Japanese technology to help parents protect their babies. Speaking at the product launch held at AEON Taman Maluri in Cheras, Managing Director of Unicharm Malaysia, Hirotaka Taki, said “At MamyPoko, we believe strongly in not only providing the utmost comfort for babies, but also providing parents with peace of mind when it comes to their little ones’ wellbeing. We believe that the introduction of the MamyPoko Extra Dry Protect diaper will be able to ease some of the worries parents face when it comes to protecting their children from the dangers of dengue.” While focus on dengue has been pushed to the backburner due to the current global COVID-19 pandemic, the dangers of dengue are still very much prevalent.

Their latest innovation, the MamyPoko Extra Dry Protect diaper uses Japan patented technology to capture lemongrass extract in microcapsules, which are embedded onto the surface of the diaper tapes. A well known natural repellent, the lemongrass extract in the microcapsules will be activated when rubbed or scratched, releasing a pleasant scent that repels mosquitoes. The extract is proven to be safe for babies, alcohol-free and DEET-free with the diaper straps requiring no skin contact so parents will not need to worry.

The launch of the MamyPoko Extra Dry Protect diaper was also accompanied by a panel session, with experts Senior Lecturer, Department of Medical Microbiology, Faculty of Medicine, University Malaya Dr Nurhafiza binti Zainal and Associate Prof. Dr. Gan Chin Seng, Head of Paediatric Intensive Care Unit, University of Malaya Medical Centre alongside Unicharm Malaysia’s marketing director, Makoto Anezaki to discuss the dangers of dengue and the importance of taking necessary precautions in dengue prevention. Speaking during the panel session, Dr. Nurhafiza said “The dengue virus is especially dangerous as there are four different strains and we only develop immunity to each strain after recovering from it. As the saying goes, prevention is better than cure and we should do all that we can to protect our young ones.” When asked about the number of dengue cases involving children and babies, Prof. Dr. Gan said, ““There were approximately 30,000 paediatric cases of dengue last year. As we have yet to discover a cure or effective vaccine for dengue, we can only do our best in protecting our children and babies through acts of prevention.

Makoto Anezaki also mentioned, “Dengue has always been a concern for parents and the thought of our children contracting it is worse. The introduction of the MamyPoko Extra Dry Protect diaper is part of our initiative to help parents protect their children from the dengue virus.”
MamyPoko Malaysia has also partnered with AEON Retail to donate RM1.00 to the Malaysian AEON Foundation for every 1 pack of MamyPoko Extra Dry Protect purchased from any of their outlets, starting from now until 31st October 2020, with a goal of 10,000 packs sold.

Why Buy a Laptop When You Can Rent

Year 2020 has been a challenging year for most of us. The COVID-19 pandemic has brought World’s economy to crisis, and many of us have lost our jobs. I believe many of us have been thinking of inventing into a new business.

Operating a small startup company requires capital to be able to sustain through the next couple of months. Hence, a healthy cash flow is the fundamental. That said, we should rent instead of buy to save our costs. From the office, car to laptop, we can rent them easily now, especially renting a laptop at SMARTRENTAL.
With over 20 years of involvement in refurbishing, renting and selling of IT equipment, SMARTRENTAL understands the challenges that business owners face and has introduced a solution that can easily help them obtain PCs and notebooks without draining out their critically needed cash. From laptops, PCs, MacBook’s and iPads, we can rent them at an affordable price at SMARTRENTAL. Most importantly, the SMARTRENTAL service is robust and affordable, enabling organisations of any size to adopt it. There is no minimum length to the contract, so users can rent out a device for brief periods as needed.
Picture taken from SmartRental's FB Page

SMARTRENTAL programme is simple and flexible. Start from just RM48 per month, SMARTRENTAL laptop rental services come with unlimited online support, free service, repair or any exchange at their Service Center. There is also a full hardware warranty throughout the rental period, and companies renting over five units enjoy on-site preventive maintenance and free service. Users can choose to sign up for a rental contract for 12 to 24 months.
SMARTRENTAL programme offers two key features that makes it a better option for those in need of cost-effective IT equipment:
  1. Eliminates the need for cumbersome credit checks and processing, making it easier for companies to apply - One does not have to go through credit checks and processing in order to be eligible to rent the IT equipment.
  2. Instant savings of around 60% the cost of a typical IT set-up - All we need to pay is just a three-month advance rental instead of a large amount of buying the IT equipment. For example, you can have immediate access to laptops or desktops with their Branded tier-1 Business Performance Machines and almost zero downtime for only RM68 per month.

Jacob’s Celebrates Everyday Original Malaysians This Merdeka

This year has shown many of us that not all heroes wear capes and Jacob’s, the Original Cream Cracker is shining the spotlight on them. In line with that, this Merdeka, #TheOriginalsMY by Jacob’s will celebrate everyday Original Malaysians who are outstanding in their own way – individuals who have made our day-to-day lives a little easier, those who put a smile on our faces and people who have made our country a safer, happier and better place in their own unique ways.
“Having gone through unprecedented and challenging times since the start of 2020, this year’s National Day will carry a deeper meaning for us as a nation. We have pulled through together and with Jacob’s #TheOriginalsMY, we want to acknowledge and celebrate Original Malaysians who are all around us – our friends, neighbours and even strangers. It is now an opportunity for us to sit back and reflect on those who have made a positive and lasting impact on our daily lives, no matter how big or small,” said Arpan Sur, Associate Director, Southeast Asia Biscuits & Snacks.
In August 2019, Jacob’s celebrated eight inspiring Original Malaysian icons who are legends in their own fields, icons who are known for being the first, the best, and the original of their crafts. This year’s line-up of Original Malaysians includes four inspiring everyday heroes who have given us so much yet expecting so little in return, meet:

Nur Azmina Burhan - A hairstylist who helps the under privileged communities. Her free haircuts give these communities in Kuala Lumpur fresh looks and renewed hope.

R. Jeganathan - As the national Paralympics coach, he turned disability into an ability for man. He coached and journeyed with our national Paralympics athletes as they secured three gold medals and two world records at the 2016 Rio Paralympics.

Adrian Wong - Using 3D printing technology, he made face shields when there was a shortage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), aiding frontliners in our country as they battled the COVID-19 pandemic.

Rizo Leong - Collaborating with other local artists, his work champions social causes, giving a voice to those who need it most. In recent times, their art was used to raise funds for frontliners as they braved the ongoing pandemic.

“We live in a country that is made up of people who are always ready to extend a helping hand or put a smile on our faces whenever we need it the most. Experiences like these are truly Malaysian and through #TheOriginalsMY, Jacob’s is encouraging everyone to embrace such moments and recognise the people in it,” added Arpan.
