Marriott Executive Apartments Kuala Lumpur (MEA KL) marks its first anniversary following its opening on 14 August 2025, reflecting on a year of welcoming guests from Malaysia and around the world while establishing itself as a residential-style base for extended stays in Kuala Lumpur.

Happy first anniversary to Marriott Executive Apartments Kuala Lumpur

As the first Marriott Executive Apartments in Kuala Lumpur, the 353-room property is also the largest Marriott Executive Apartments in the APEC region. Over its first year, 75% of its guests have originated from the Asia Pacific region, reflecting its appeal among travellers seeking the flexibility and comforts of home while staying in the city.

Since opening its doors, the property has welcomed a diverse range of guests, from business and long-stay travellers to leisure guests and families. Its spacious apartments feature fully equipped kitchenettes, in-room laundry facilities and dedicated living areas, giving guests the flexibility to maintain their routines while away from home.

Marriott Executive Apartments' extended-stay living concept is designed to offer the comforts of home, complemented by Marriott’s renowned hospitality and services. Located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, the property also offers convenient access to the city’s key business, lifestyle and leisure destinations, making it well suited to those who want to live, work and explore at their own pace, whether they’re in KL on extended assignments, relocating or visiting for longer city stays.

Grant Young, General Manager of Marriott Executive Apartments Kuala Lumpur

"Reaching our first anniversary is a meaningful milestone for the entire Marriott Executive Apartments Kuala Lumpur team," said Grant Young, General Manager of Marriott Executive Apartments Kuala Lumpur. "Over the past year, we have had the privilege of welcoming guests from Malaysia and around the world, and seeing the property grow into a place where guests can genuinely feel at home has been incredibly rewarding. Our hosts have brought that experience to life through their care, dedication and personalised service. As we enter our second year, we look forward to building on this foundation and welcoming many more guests to Kuala Lumpur."

Available on 28 August, 4 September and 25 September 2026, the limited-edition dining experience is more than a buffet. It is a thoughtful celebration of the stories, traditions and flavours that have shaped Malaysia's identity across generations.

At the heart of Warisan Malaysia is a collaboration between the hotel's culinary team and Jabatan Warisan Negara, bringing together two of Malaysia's greatest treasures, its food and its heritage. While more than eight chefs recreate recipes inspired by their mothers and family kitchens, guests can also explore an intimate showcase of handcrafted Malaysian artistry featuring handloom sarees, handwoven shawls, fabric jewellery, naturally dyed handblock textiles, handicrafts, traditional games and more.

Dr Farizawati binti Sabri, Director of the Conservation Department, Jabatan Warisan Negara, alongside Till Martin, General Manager of Midtown Brasserie, officially launched the event early August 2026.

Marriott Bonvoy and the Bukit Merah Orang Utan Island Foundation Launch Nationwide Orangutan Conservation Collaboration

Marriott Bonvoy and the Bukit Merah Orang Utan Island Foundation (BMOUIF) has announced a collaboration through ‘A Story That Matters: Uniting Hospitality and Conservation for a Better Future,‘ a nationwide campaign that brings together hospitality, conservation and education to support the protection of endangered orangutans.

United by a shared commitment to protecting Malaysia's natural heritage, Marriott Bonvoy and BMOUIF have come together to transform travel into a meaningful force for conservation. Combining Marriott Bonvoy's hospitality platform with BMOUIF's decades of expertise in orangutan conservation, the collaboration aims to raise awareness of Malaysia's rich biodiversity and encourage more travelers to become part of a meaningful conservation journey.

At the heart of the campaign is Aggy, a young Bornean orangutan whose story shines a light on the remarkable conservation work of BMOUIF. Orphaned shortly after birth, Aggy survived thanks to the unwavering dedication of veterinarians and caregivers who nurtured him through his most vulnerable months. Today, he has been successfully reintroduced to Orang Utan Island, where he has been accepted by an adoptive orangutan mother, a heartwarming milestone made possible through months of dedicated care and rehabilitation.

Through Aggy's symbolic adoption, the collaboration aims to inspire guests and Marriott Bonvoy members to support BMOUIF's ongoing conservation, rehabilitation, research and education efforts while helping secure a brighter future for endangered orangutans.

The campaign forms part of Serve 360: Doing Good in Every Direction, Marriott International's sustainability and social impact platform, reinforcing the company's commitment to creating positive impact in the communities and environments where it operates.

Hospitality is about creating meaningful connections, not only with people, but also with the destinations we are privileged to be part of," said George Varughese, Market Vice President – Malaysia, Marriott International. "Our collaboration with the Bukit Merah Orang Utan Island Foundation reflects Marriott Bonvoy's commitment to using travel as a force for good. We hope this initiative inspires our guests and members to engage more deeply with Malaysia's natural heritage and demonstrate how even small actions can contribute to protecting it for future generations."

A Festive Spectacle Awaits @ Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown

The newly opened Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown officially launched its inaugural festive season with a spectacular tree-lighting ceremony. Marking the occasion on Thanksgiving Day, the hotel unveiled stunning holiday installations for guests to enjoy throughout the season.

The centerpiece of the hotel's celebrations is a magnificent 20-foot Christmas tree, traditionally adorned with exquisite ornaments, standing proudly in the hotel lobby. The festive display extends to a charming Christmas Market featuring three artisanal gingerbread houses, one meticulously crafted with authentic gingerbread walls and roof, filling the air with a warm, inviting aroma that creates an immersive sensory experience for guests.

The launch event commenced with a captivating performance by the 10-piece Selangor Philharmonic Orchestra, setting an elegant tone for the evening. A delightful surprise followed as four young ballerinas from Clavier Ballet enchanted attendees with a graceful dance, culminating in one dancer presenting General Manager Till Martin with a magic wand. In a moment of pure magic, Mr. Martin waved the wand, instantly illuminating the Christmas tree to the delight of all present.

Following the tree lighting, Mr. Martin delivered a heartfelt speech. "This ceremony marks the start of the festive season and establishes a new tradition of joy, care and community within our hotel," said Mr. Till Martin, General Manager of Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur at KL Midtown. "In a nation celebrated for its diversity and harmony, we hold this celebration with deep respect for local traditions. It is more than a festive occasion—it is a reflection of the Hyatt purpose: to care for people so they can be their very best."

He added, "The hotel's festive celebrations are elevated through its partnership with Kiwanis, an organization dedicated to serving less privileged children. A booth has been established at the hotel to raise essential funds for their cause. Guests can support this initiative by purchasing TY toys, which have been generously donated by the hotel. All proceeds will directly benefit Kiwanis's charitable programs. This is part of the Hyatt’s community care program."

The festive season will also be marked by the "Symphony of Christmas Joy & Giving Charity Concert 2025," a highlight event presented in collaboration with Kiwanis and the renowned Selangor Philharmonic Orchestra.
