Affectionate Intelligence by LG Electronics Malaysia

LG Electronics Malaysia (LG) recently unveiled its vision for more empathetic technology at the annual LG Convention in Bangsar South. Powered by Affectionate Intelligence (AI), the showcase featured an impressive line-up of AI-enhanced consumer electronics, demonstrating the company’s commitment as a Smart Life Solution Company to creating technology that truly understands and adapts to users’ needs.

This prestigious convention has been the nation’s premier platform for unveiling LG’s latest cutting-edge innovations and cornerstone of LG’s product launches in Malaysia for over a decade. At the heart of LG’s presentation was the transformative approach of Affectionate Intelligence (AI), emphasising the company’s vision of a future where technology does not just automate tasks, but understands, adapts to and enhances the overall human experience - making users feel understood and enriching everyday moments.

“The next frontier isn’t just smarter technology – it’s more empathetic technology,” said Justin Choi, Managing Director of LG Electronics Malaysia.

“Our AI-powered consumer electronics demonstrate how we’re creating solutions that understand real human needs rather than forcing users to adapt to technology. These innovations learn from your behaviours to anticipate needs before you even express them, giving you more time for what truly matters.”

Leading the showcase were LG’s latest OLED televisions featuring advanced AI picture and sound processing that automatically optimises viewing experiences based on content and environment. The AI-powered displays deliver personalised entertainment that adapts to viewing preferences and room conditions.

The LG AI Air DualCool™ air conditioning system impressed attendees with its intelligent cooling technology that learns usage patterns and automatically adjusts temperature and airflow for optimal comfort while maximising energy efficiency.

LG Subscribe Rebranding & The Launch of LG ATOM-U Water

LG Electronics Malaysia recently announced the strategic rebranding of LG Rent-Up to LG Subscribe at an exclusive event featuring Lee Zii Jia, Paris 2024 Olympics Badminton Men's Singles Bronze Medallist and LG Brand Ambassador. This milestone positions Malaysia as the first subsidiary to implement a comprehensive home appliance subscription business model – a customer-first approach that redefines how Malaysians access premium technology without the financial burden of ownership.

The rebranding marks LG’s strategic evolution from traditional ownership concept to a forward-thinking subscription model, embodying the company's “Life's Good” philosophy of making innovative technology more accessible to all Malaysians. Feedback from customers revealed a common point of confusion – many were uncertain if the term “rent” implied temporary use or a path to ownership.

According to Mr. Justin Choi, Managing Director of LG Electronics Malaysia, this valuable customer insight prompted LG Malaysia to follow the successful lead of Korea – and align with other subsidiaries including Thailand, India, and Singapore - by adopting the clearer, more intuitive name: LG Subscribe.

“Following our Future Vision 2030 laid out globally, we aim to transform LG into a Smart Life Solution Company by connecting and enhancing customer experiences across all living spaces – from homes and commercial environments to mobility and virtual platforms. We’re moving beyond consumer electronics to deliver intelligent solutions that improve everyday life,” said Mr Justin.

“Today marks a pivotal moment in our journey to redefine how Malaysians experience premium technology. With LG Subscribe, we reinforce our commitment to offering flexible, accessible solutions that cater to modern lifestyles – removing the financial barriers to enjoying cutting-edge appliances.”

LG Subscribe offers a robust line-up of 10 premium products including popular innovations such as LG PuriCare™ water purification systems, LG CordZero vacuum technology, LG ArtCool air conditioning, and LG WashTower laundry solutions. Subscribers enjoy professional maintenance service from 5 to 7 years and seamless integration with LG’s ThinQ smart technology – all with flexible payment options designed to fit diverse budgets.

New! The Ordinary UV Filters SPF 45 Serum

The Ordinary has launched UV Filters SPF 45 Serum - a serum-textured sunscreen offering broad-spectrum SPF 45 protection against sun damage and premature skin aging caused by sun exposure.

The Ordinary has formulated an SPF product in the past - the Mineral UV Filters SPF 30 with Antioxidants. But after receiving consumer feedback regarding the mineral formula's thick texture and white cast. the brand discontinued its SPF and went back to the lab to formulate a sun protectant that its consumers will not only need but want to use daily.

Introducing - finally - The Ordinary's UV Filters SPF 45 Serum, a brand new formulation providing broad-spectrum SPF protection against sun damage and premature skin aging.

Break the Chemical Bias.

A common question amongst consumers is the difference between mineral and chemical suncare.

Essentially, both types of sunscreen formulations contain chemicals because everything is chemicals. While both chemical and mineral filters can be used in a formulation to provide great UV protection. it is harder to formulate a truly transparent, lightweight, and accessibly priced sunscreen with mineral filters alone - especially when looking to achieve a high SPF product.

This time, The Ordinary has stepped away from Mineral Filters and instead. worked with a blend of FDA-approved chemical filters to formulate an affordable, lightweight, high-SPF sunscreen that feels comfortable on the skin and does not leave a white cast - one that is suitable for daily use, and that you will truly want to wear every day.

First in Southeast Asia! Institut Jantung Negara Implant Revotionary Dual-Chamber Leadless Pacemaker

Institut Jantung Negara (IJN), one of Southeast Asia’s largest and most advanced heart hospitals continues to raise the bar in cardiac electrophysiology, advancing patient care through World Class innovation. IJN has made medical history by becoming the first centre in Southeast Asia to successfully implant the world's first dual-chamber leadless pacemaker system, the Abbott's AVEIRTM DR.

Chief Clinical Officer, Senior Consultant Cardiologist; Prof Dato Sri Dr Mohamed Ezani Md Taib, Group Chief Executive Officer, IJN

Approved by the FDA in June 2023, AVEIR DR provides an innovative option to treat patients that suffer slow or irregular heart rhythms.

"IJN continues to set new standards for heart care in Malaysia and beyond. This new groundbreaking dual chamber leadless pacemaker will revolutionize care for our current patients and create a significant opportunity to expand the number of people we can serve. By eliminating traditional wires (leads) and surgical pockets, this leadless system significantly reduces the risk of complications such as infections, lead dislodgement, or vessel occlusion" said Senior Consultant Cardiologist and Clinical Director — Interventional Electrophysiology and Implantable Devices

For decades, pacemaker technology remained fundamentally unchanged due to the challenge of achieving seamless dual-chamber communication without leads. AVEIR
TM DR change that by enabling more natural heart rhythm synchrony and improves quality of life, especially for patients at higher risk from conventional systems.

Designed for patients with slow or abnormal heart rhythms, AVEIRTM DR represents a major leap in cardiac pacing technology. Unlike traditional pacemakers, which are placed under the skin with insulated leads extending to the heart, the AVEIR
TM DR system uses two miniaturized pacemakers, each roughly one-tenth the size of conventional devices, implanted directly into the heart's right atrium and ventricle.
