The lively event welcomed all guests into a fun-filled afternoon of cheese tasting, learning and creativity, where they discovered the world of natural and artisan California cheese through interactive experiences, live demonstrations and hands-on activities.
The hallway was setup with an interactive photobooth featuring fun props and slogans celebrating Real California Milk where attendees could take memorable and instagrammable picture together with their special door gift goodie bag.
The venue was beautifully decorated with a vibrant Real California Milk Cheese products. It showcases a wide variety of natural cheeses, from commodity to artisan selections. That's why California is the leading dairy-producing state in the United States, known for it's ideal weather, grain-fed cows, quality water and strict USDA food safety standards.
The event started with an immersive cheese tasting and exclusive presentation by Ms Lynn Giacomini Stray, Co-founder and CEO of Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company. The award-winning Point Reyes cheese are full of heritage and craftsmanship. We like that their cheese are in premium quality and rich in flavour.
More importantly, Point Reyes cheese have been certified HALAL, making these premium artisan cheeses more accessible and suitable for the Muslim consumers too. This milestone reinforces Point Reyes' commitment to quality, inclusivity and meeting the needs of the Malaysian market.
During the tasting session, we got to sample five distint Point Reyes cheese varieties, namely Point Reyes Blue, Gouda, Toma, Toma Truffle and Toma Rashi. Each cheese offers its own unique profile and flavour experience, from creamy to buttery notes to earthy truffle, subtle spice and bold blue cheese characteristics.
The event followed with an exciting live culinary demonstration by Chef Fazil Shahreen, Group Executive Chef of The Olive Group. Guests enjoyed tasting three delicious dishes crafted with California cheese - corn croquette, rice kheer and stuffed scallop wing. It shows that cheese can elevate both savoury and sweet dishes.
Adding another layer of inspiration, Chef Aison Osman Wong, Founder of Aison Bakery, shared his signature Blue cheese sourdough and Fcaccia bread creations. We love how he created the delicious pastry by incorporated the premium California cheeses into everyday baking and dining.
The excitement continued with a DIY cheese board competition led by Chef Jason and judge by Chef Aison, Chef Fzail and Ms. Lynn Giacomini Stray. All the guests enthusiastically created their own cheese boards using a selection of cheeses and ingredients, learning how to arrange them into beautiful and appetising displays.
Overall, the room was filled with laughter, creativity and plenty of friendly competition as paticipants snapped photos of their cheese boards and uploaded to social media pages as part of the day's contest. The event concluded with a group photo and prize presentation to the lucky winners.
