Malaysia’s First CNY Micro Drama - When Luck Meets Love (《财到福到,爱情驾到》) by Thousands Of Years Media

With the fast approaching Year of the Fire Horse, Thousands of Years Media (ToYm), the innovative entertainment company founded by Datuk Wira Jment Lim, who is also the founder of SunStrong Entertainment, has announced its latest milestone project: the company’s first-ever Chinese New Year micro drama, When Luck Meets Love (《财到福到,爱情驾到》).

Filming is set to begin on 18 November 2025, marking a festive celebration of family bonds, laughter, and rekindled romance. The story follows He Yuting, a young woman who has sworn off love and returned to her hometown to run a guesthouse. Just before Chinese New Year’s Eve, her ex-boyfriend Wang Jingsheng turns up with an expired accommodation voucher, hoping to enjoy free food and lodging. Upset, Yuting makes him “work off his stay”, setting the stage for a light-hearted yet touching reunion filled with playful banter, second chances, and rediscovered feelings.

The micro drama features Mskuan (@Ms_Kuan) in the lead female role and celebrated model-actress Amber Chia in a special guest appearance. They are joined by Thousands of Years Media (ToYm)’s rising in-house artists such as Ng Xin Yi, Jayden Chen, and Xiao Wei Wei, whose participation underscores ToYm’s commitment to nurturing homegrown talent. By giving its artists central roles in high-quality productions, ToYm continues to provide a launchpad for emerging talent while reinforcing its reputation as a creative powerhouse.

Early advertisers already on board include One Hair Academy, Destino Signature Studio, Artistic Makeup Academy, E-Pray, IDouBabe and Redfores. As filming has yet to begin, there remains an opportunity for more advertisers to come on board.

Beyond Chinese New Year: Expanding the Ecosystem

When Luck Meets Love also signals ToYm’s ongoing expansion of its creative ecosystem. Through the ToYm Partner Alliance, partner brands and merchants are connected via shared exposure, resources, and co-promotions, strengthening both content and collaboration. The company will also launch its first Hari Raya micro drama in 2026, a project that reflects ToYm’s commitment to multicultural storytelling.

The team specially designed costumes that capture the joyful essence of Chinese New Year, combining festive colours, cultural symbolism, and modern elegance complemented by accessories from ToYm Fashion’s latest jewellery line to complete each look.

In addition, ToYm is broadening its artist management services, ensuring its artists are equipped with opportunities not just within ToYm productions but also across Malaysia’s wider entertainment industry. These efforts are complemented by the upcoming premiere of Reborn and Revenge in November 2025, one of ToYm’s most ambitious micro dramas to date, further solidifying ToYm’s position as a pioneer of Malaysia’s new-age entertainment industry.
