A Visit to Matrix Global School Malaysia

Having two lovely daughters, I have always been searching of a good school that let them seek knowledge with open minds. Lucky for us, there are many types of schools in Malaysia. From local government school, to home school, Private School and International School. What is your choice for your kid(s)?

As my younger daughter is growing up, I am looking for an alternative school for her because she is different from her sister. Hence, I have brought my younger girl to visit Matrix Global School Malaysia to know more about the school recently. Located at Bandar Sri Sendayan, Negeri Sembilan; Matrix Global School Malaysia is a nice campus.

We were welcome by Matrix Global School Malaysia’s Marketing Assistant Manager, Carynna Lim and her staff at the main entrance. Then we were led to a meeting room to meet and greet the principal, Denise Sinclair.

The Principal, Denise Sinclair has introduced us the history of Matrix Global School Malaysia and the aim of becoming the top school in Malaysia. Opened in September 2014, Matrix Global School Malaysia has a Pre-School, an International School as well as Private School in its large compound of 20-acre campus.

Matrix Global School Malaysia has the vision of one school with one vision. As students is the most importance of a school, Matrix Global School would emphasize on know, what, how and value added to their students. For this, they have a Cognitive Ability Test Version 4 (CAT4) implemented, curriculum mapping with academic structure, ensure the quality of the teachers recruited and retained, rigorous monitoring of teaching and learning, they also understand that learning can become truly individualised in Matrix Global School.

A ‘Sweet Raya’ with California Raisins

Hari Raya Aidilfitri is around the corner, how’s your preparation to the festive season my Muslim friends? In conjunction with this festive season, the Raisin Administrative Committee (RAC) had introduced an array of nutritious and delicious recipes using California Raisins.

Aptly named ‘California Raisins Raya Manis’, these recipes aimed to inspire a sweet Hari Raya in aspects of creating sweet home-made culinary delights to serve family and friends during the Hari Raya festive season.

California Raisins’ team had organise an event held at The Cooking House, Bangsar not long ago. I was happy to join this event and participated the cooking competition with my teammates: Pamela, Chin Yee and Sin Yee.

Before the competition started, we were welcome by Richard Lieu, Trade Director of Raisins Administrative Committee. Raisins are great to munch or snack on for the whole family especially children with natural sugar and is also a sugar replacement for many recipes in cooking and baking. Raisins is a great source of nutrition which is suitable to incorporate into meals amidst rising health issues due to unhealthy diets. According to Clinical Dietitian from Tropicana Medical Centre Ms Tan Yen Sing, studies have shown that increased consumption of fruits and vegetables more than 5 servings a day is related to a 17% reduction in coronary heart disease.

The California Raisins team had also introduced Chef Rohani Jelani who has come up with the variety unique menu with the special home-made dishes. Chef Rohani Jelani has also live demo to us on how to make Biskut Kurabia Kismis California.

Mother’s Day 2017 Celebration @ 6000 Feet above Sea Level

Mother’s Day is a day I treasure a lot. After becoming a mother of two girls, I realised mother is a very important role in everyone’s life. Not only we gave birth to the child, we also spend our time and effort to nurture them.

This year, I was honoured to be invited to celebrate Mother’s Day with some other single mothers and children at above 6000 Feet above Sea Level. Yes, you guess it right, we had visited Resort World Genting on Mother’s Day 2017 which was fall on Sunday, 14th May 2017.

We depart to the Awana Transport Hub in the early morning. There, we were meet and greet by the friendly PR Team, and we queued to ride on the glass floor gondola cable car. It is truly one of our best start of the day. It takes just 10 minutes to ascend from Awana Station to the final stop, Sky Avenue Station. The gondolas fly over key attractions at the resort, giving passengers a bird’s eye view from Chin Swee Temple to the future Twentieth Century Fox World Malaysia. There is even mobile charger in the gondola so you don’t need to worry that your mobile phone goes flat from taking selfies or photos of the stunning scenery. Even though my younger girl and I am afraid of height, we still enjoyed the breathtaking view of the 130-million-year-old rainforest below.

Once we reached the Sky Avenue, we proceeded to have lunch at the selected restaurants. In fact, there are plenty of restaurants available at Sky Avenue, including the famous Burger & Lobster, Cafes Richard, Babajia, Acme Bar & Coffee, Madam Kwan’s, Kyochon 1991, Morganfield’s, Canton-I, Dazzling Café, Ding Tai Fung and many more. 

Miriam and I were glad to be invited to Tampopo, a Japanese and Korean fusion restaurant that specializes in Japanese noodles and home cooked dishes. Originated from Singapore, Tampopo has won various awards. We can’t wait to sit back, relax and enjoyed our scrumptious lunch at the contemporary restaurant.

Malaysian is well known of loving shopping, so do I. I love shopping as the retail therapy made me happy and satisfy. With the technology, we could even shop at the comfort of our home at Online shopping. However, there are not many choices in Malaysia online shopping platforms.

I have always envy my China ex-colleagues and my China friends who can always shopping at Taobao and TMall, as we all know that there are plenty of choices with really cheap price there. Markets 23 by Jaya One

How has Saturday been to you? For me, I had a fantastic shopping day at Markets 23 by Jaya One today. Although it was a rainy afternoon, it did not stop me from visiting the best bazaar in PJ.

This time, Markets 23 is themed as Malaysia Made. I had fun exploring all the Malaysia made products. 

From fashionable apparel to fashion accessories, there are quite a lot of selections there. There are also very special t-shirts and tote bags that is printed with the unique designs.

Most importantly, the designs of the fashion and accessories are really unique, they would surely made me stand out from the crowd.
