South Korea’s Government-Backed Showcase Unlocks K-Culture’s Next Wave in Kuala Lumpur

Come discover the Next Wave of K-Culture in Kuala Lumpur.

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) and the Korea Small Enterprise and Market Service (SEMAS), in collaboration with Leap Innovation Co. Ltd., has collaborated to launch the “2025 Global ShowroomPop-Up Store at The Exchange TRX in Kuala Lumpur

Running from December 1 to December 14, this government-backed initiative, themed “The Radiant Korea World Showcase,” is designed to provide Korean Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) with a vital platform to test the Malaysian market, gather real-time consumer feedback, and secure crucial export partnerships.

Strengthening Korea-Malaysia Bilateral Trade and SME Growth

This event serves as a strategic extension of the South Korean government's aggressive policy to globalize its SME sector and boost export competitiveness. By establishing a physical presence in a dynamic commercial hub like The Exchange TRX, a landmark recognized as a crucial driver of Kuala Lumpur’s modern retail and financial district, the MSS and SEMAS are demonstrating a direct commitment to strengthening economic ties with Malaysia.

Key Initiative Highlights:

Government Mandate: The Global Showroom is a core component of the MSS's support program, aimed at mitigating initial export risks for small businesses and building a sustainable foundation for overseas sales.

Market Intelligence: The pop-up is not merely a sales event; it is a live market research engine. On-site, real-time consumer insights, including purchase feedback, price suitability, and packaging preferences will be meticulously collected. This data will be compiled into a detailed report to help the 25 participating companies localize their strategy and product improvement for the Southeast Asian market.

Neurodivergent Creativity Take Centre Stage in CARiNG, Georgetown and Wellings Pharmacies’ 2026 Calendar

CARiNG Pharmacy, Georgetown Pharmacy and Wellings Pharmacy—part of the BIG CARiNG Group has introduced their 2026 “Colours of Care, Days of Joy” calendar, created in collaboration with the START Program and featuring original artwork by two neurodivergent siblings, 13-year-old Zayn and 10-year-old Nafeesah. Launched at The Grey Box @ GMBB, the calendar honours the unique ways neurodivergent children perceive, express and connect with the world around them.

The 2026 calendar features 8 original artworks created by Zayn and Nafeesah each offering a sincere and imaginative interpretation of the world through the eyes of the two siblings. Their illustrations form the centre of the calendar’s theme, celebrating everyday moments, emotion and colour in ways that feel honest and expressive.

Wong Siew Lai, Chief Marketing Officer of BIG CARiNG Group said, “Every year, we are humbled by the talent and honesty these young artists bring to their work. Zayn and Nafeesah’s stories remind us that creativity isn’t just art — it’s communication, self-expression and confidence. Supporting their journeys is something we take to heart. By featuring their work, we hope more families and communities recognise the strengths within neurodivergence, and trust that platforms like this create space for voices that are often quiet.”

Zayn, who is autistic and high-functioning with ADHD, began drawing at the age of three. What started as simple sketches of buildings and hand-drawn maps soon grew into detailed illustrations that reflect his vivid, structured imagination. For him, each line drawn is a way to calm his busy mind and communicate how he experiences life from his own unique vantage point.

His sister, Nafeesah, who lives with dyslexia and ADHD, has always been drawn to bright colours and joyful imagery. Art has become her way to unwind after long days, with her pieces filled with whimsical buildings, playful scenes and “happy hues”, as her family describes them. Her illustrations carry her belief that life should be embraced with lightness and fun.
