L’OCCITANE Women's Day Balm 2016

Every year, to mark International Women’s Day on March 8th, L’OCCITANE pays tribute to the women of Burkina Faso via a new project called “L’OCCITANE pour ELLES” to promote and foster entrepreneurship among Burkinabè (Burkina Faso) women.

This year is also the same. Let’s support this noble global effort by L’OCCITANE Foundation with the purchase of limited edition Shea & Rose Ultra Rich Balm at only RM17.

All proceeds will goes back to L’OCCITANE FOUNDATION France to NGOs which support women’s leadership.

[Movie] The Kid from The Big Apple

I felt honored and excited to be invited to the Gala Premiere of the awards winning movie – The Kid from The Big Apple last Thursday. Happened at GSC Pavillion Kl, we not only had the chance to watch the movie prior to its screening date, we also met the director and main casts during the event. I even took the opportunity to shake hands with them, yay! 

It’s a rare opportunity for us to meet the Golden Horse Award Best Actor Tommy Tam or better known by his stage name Ti Lung, and Jessica Hester Hsuan here in KL. In conjunction with the movie screening, they were in KL to promote the movie alongside with director Jess Teong and the two young Malaysian talents Tan Qin Lin and Tan Jason.

The Kid from The Big Apple movie storyline was a girl, Sarah who was born and raised in New York. She  visits Malaysia for the first time and learns why her grandfather, Gen and mother, Sophia have not seen each other since she was born and why they care so much about their cultural traditions. Elders see the younger generations as eyesores because of their overly 'westernised' (wild/ care free) behaviour and poor moral's. Whilst the youngsters on the other hand, have no time for their elders, who to them seem belong in a museum. Sadly, this is a growing global phenomenon. It is the director's intent to tell this tale in a witty, comical manner and in doing so, hoping that this little slice of life will touch the audiences' heart.

The movie was very touching and hilarious at the same time. We see familiar places in KL as well as heard familiar songs and familiar ‘rojak’ language which is direct translate from English to Chinese. My elder princess, JR and I laugh and cried in the cinema.

It was indeed a great movie talking about the relationship between different generations. For those who are going to watch the movie, do prepare tissue papers ya.

Jessica Hester Hsuan

In fact, Taiwanese celebrity Vivian Hsu is the executive producer of “The kid from the big apple”. The movie has received International recognition in various film festivals.

Tan Qin Lin (Sarah)

Do you know that it is also the first Malaysian movie to collaborate with International fast food chain, McDonald’s. In conjunction with this collaboration, the movie kicked off its sneak shows 3 weekends prior to the general release, and had since gone viral and gained rave reviews alike.

I love lipstick, but I also scared of them on the other hand. As I read from an article previously, most of the lipstick on the market contains toxic which is bad for our health. I also heard that an inordinate amount of lipstick during their lifetimes, that’s scary isn’t it?

Hence I have tried out the Human Nature Mineral ColorCreme Lipstick in Lucky in Love (Satin) shade recently.

The Human Nature Mineral ColorCreme Lipstick is rich and moisturize, it is very creamy in texture. However it takes a bit time to glide through and apply evenly on my slightly dry lips. I like its nice color payoff with the classy black packaging.

[Review] KOSE Sekkisei Trial Kit

Who doesn’t love beautiful surprise? Thank you KOSE and The Butterfly Project Malaysia for the cute parcel delivered to my doorstep. For my social media followers, you would have seen my unbox video of the lovely surprise parcel a few weeks ago. 

We received a gigantic pink box filled with pink and white balloons and a big heart shape coiled balloon, underneath the balloons was the hidden gem - KOSE Sekkisei Trial Kit.

KOSE is a renowned Japan skincare brand that does not needed much introduction. It is a household name not only in Japan but also in various countries outside of Japan; even my mom was using it when she was young! The KOSE Signature blue bottle is an antidotes with an oriental formula for moisturized, brighter and even skin tone. KOSE Sekkisei range epitomizing a moisturized, clear and translucent skin that glows like snow.

In fact, I have tried KOSE Sekkisei skincare range many years ago but I’ve stopped using it due to it break out my skin back then. Well, is it doing any different to my oily combination skin now? Let’s see my result after using KOSE Sekkisei trial kit for a week.

First, I wash off my skin with Sekkisei white liquid wash twice a day.

Sekkisei white liquid wash is a soft milky liquid wash that provide skin healthy glow and retain moisture. 

Comes in a cute pump bottle, It is easy to use as we just dispense 2 pumps onto palm, add water then gently lather until foam forms, massage onto face before washing off thoroughly.

I like that the wash is foamy and non-scented. My skin feel squeaky clean after washing off with luke warm water. The best part is, my skin doesn’t feel tight nor dry after washing off.

Then, I apply Sekkisei Lotion to soften my skin.

Work from The Comfortable REO Suite, One City USJ #reosuite

I was sitting in the office on a boring evening while waiting for the thunderstorm to stop so I could go home, and I saw the posting of my blogger friend on the new REO suite show unit at One City, USJ Subang. I was amazed by the beautiful suites; and my eyes blink excessively that I was really wanted to visit the show room immediately.

I showed my hubby the beautiful pictures immediately when I reached home that day. He agreed that REO suite might be our stepping stone for business startup and hence we decided to pay it a visit on a lovely weekend. We drove to the REO Suite showroom at MCT Sales Gallery @ One City USJ Subang after having lovely breakfast on last weekend. It was easily accessible from a few highways namely LDP, ELITE, KESAS, and SKVE.

We addressed our interest on REO Suite showroom and then a salesman welcomed us and led us to the showroom on the top of MCT sales gallery.

He told us that REO Suite is the latest integrated development in One City, it is Freehold and entry level is pretty affordable, which is 370 sqft from RM 296,000 onwards.

The view from the showroom is stunning! We like the interior of the showroom as well as the high ceiling, which made it very spacious and relaxing.

What we truly like about it is their Google office concept: open and bright. I could imagine to be working in a place like this could be so cool; it is definitely the future working trends. Forget about the traditional boring office cubicle, we should adapt work from home style especially in our IT industry.

[Review] Human Nature Coffee Body Scrub

As a coffee junkie, I love everything coffee related. I have tried some coffee scrub before but I was terrified by a yucky one from a local homemade brand before. Luckily I found a coffee scrub that is really nice to use recently, the Human Nature Coffee Body Scrub which has a pleasant vanilla scent and great texture.

It effectively scrubs away dead skin cells, revealing smooth, soft skin. It also refreshes and moisturizes my skin, keeping skin soft and hydrated with aloe vera ingredient.

It’s easy to use on my body by following steps;

1) Apply to wet skin, paying extra attention to the parts that are always exposed to pollutants, dust and dirt. 

2) Apply the scrub gently on your skin in circular motions for around 3-5 minutes to get the job done.  Make sure you don’t scrub too hard or too long in one spot because you can actually abrade your skin.

3) Completely wash off body scrub with water. The use of soap or shower gel after applying body scrub is not necessary.
