International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta Returns to Putrajaya
This March, Putrajaya will once again host a fiesta like no other in the country. The thriving government capital will be converted to a major tourist and visitor attraction site over a four-day period from the 28 – 31 March 2013.
The Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta, returns to its Monumen Alaf Baru (also known as the Millennium Monument) grounds for the fifth year running.
2013’s fiesta will see more exciting special shaped balloons such as the Smurf Balloon, piloted by Koen Audenaert of Belgium together with Sven Grenzner of Germany who will be piloting the ‘Clown’ Balloon. 2013 also marks the return of the highly-anticipated “night glow” event where the hot air balloons will participate in a light and sound show on the night of the 30th; culminating in a beautiful display of fireworks.

Starhill Gallery Fashion Week was spectacularly launched with a big bang in the very heart of Bukit Bintang on 13th Mar 2013.
Starhill Gallery’s biggest fashion event of the year, scheduled for the 13th to the 16th of March, began with a clink of glasses filled with Mumm champagne, Absolut Vodka cocktails and an abundance of glitz and glamour at the opening party. Too bad I can’t drink since am going to deliver soon.
The latest trends of 2013’s Spring/Summer collections were unveiled during a magnificent showcase of Starhill Gallery’s exclusive designer labels; Valentino, RedValentino, Kenzo, M Missoni, Khoon Hooi, McQ by Alexander McQueen, P.A.R.O.S.H and guest brand Klutched.
Recognizing The Special Women of Avon - Avon Malaysia Celebrates International Women’s Day 2013
In conjunction with International Women’s Day, Avon Malaysia, the company for women, was all set to celebrate this joyous day with its female associates in a big way, highlighting the theme “A Tribute to Avon Women”.
To commemorate the special day, each female associate received an exclusively designed Avon Teddy Bear and warm welcomes by the top management including Carolyn Nur Amira Lee, Avon Managing Director, department heads and their male associates at the entrance upon their arrival in the morning.
A line of events were scheduled in the afternoon such as band performance, lucky draw and a self defense workshop followed by the most anticipated program, Recognition Awards presented to 3 empowering female associates in Avon Malaysia. The event ended with a buffet feast specially catered for all the associates.
The objective of the self defense workshop is to teach basic steps to protect themselves in case of emergencies, and further highlight the need to end violence against women. The workshop is conducted by Master Saiful from Kickstart Academy. This is one of Avon’s philanthropic efforts in raising awareness for domestic violence.

Bella Awards 2013 ntv7 celebrates women in a big way this International Women’s Day
It was a night that amazing women were being honored and recognized in their works, The 1st ever women’s awards show in Malaysia – Bella Awards 2013 was successfully held at The Royale Chulan Hotel, Kuala Lumpur on Sat, 2nd Mar 2013.
An idea that came from ntv7, Malaysia’s feel good channel’s award-winning women’s talkshow, Bella, the awards show boast a fabulous theme – ‘She Sparkles’ – which carries a strong message that women are like previous gems that sparkle from the inside out with their significant and outstanding contributions made to the society.
Through this inaugural awards show, ntv7 aims to inspire women not only with its content but its activations including ‘Bella She Sparkles Getaway’ – a workshop designed to engage and empower women from all walks of like. Held over 2 days, the workshop aims to inspire and give confidence to women to kick start their way towards improving themselves. Professional and renowned speakers were invited to share and talk about topics concerning women together with interactive activities. The Bella Awards ‘Bella Official Correspondent’ search was also created to open up opportunities for ladies who aspire to be the next host in Malaysia. Scouting sessions were carried out in various locations since December 2012. 19-year-old Mass Communication student Ashley Chan was recently named the winner of this search who gets to fulfill her dreams as becoming a host.
‘It is an honour for ntv7 to organize the country’s 1st ever women’s awards show with hopes to further inspire and bring women to the forefront in-conjunction with International Women’s Day,’ said Airin Zainul, Group General Manager of ntv7 & 8TV.
‘With the birth of this awards show, ntv7 hits a key milestone that signifies growth of the channel since its humble beginnings in 1998. We hope to be able to continue to be Malaysia’s preferred channel,’ Airin added.
With a total of five International superstars including Ronan Keating, Gary Chow, Rossa, Marcell Siahaan, and Maliq & D’Essentials, the awards ceremony was graced by some of the country’s renowned celebrities and personalities.
