200 "Oh Bear Go!" Cycling and Rail Themed Travel Taiwan Advertising Vehicles Hit the Road Awarded the Malaysia Book of Records

Listen up, travel buddies! Taiwan prepares to fully open its borders on 13 October 2022! In conjunction with this, Taiwan Tourism Bureau Kuala Lumpur Office launches "Oh Bear Go!" Cycling and Rail themed Travel Taiwan advertising vehicles in Malaysia on 6 Oct 2022. 200 "Oh Bear Go!" themed advertising vehicles will travel through the streets of Klang Valley, Penang, and Johor, displaying beautiful scenery of Taiwan and hoping to evoke good memories of people traveling to Taiwan.
2022 "Oh Bear Go!" Cycling and Rail themed Travel Taiwan advertising vehicle launching ceremony was held at Kloe Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. On display was the brand-new Travel Taiwan advertising vehicle "Oh Bear Go!". Three theme appearances, including Nantou Sun Moon Lake Bike, Chiayi Alishan Cherry Blossom Train, and Taipei Yangmingshan Hydrangea Flower Sea, as well as a mascot Taiwan "Oh Bear Go!" riding a bicycle, will be the eye-catching highlights of the streets in Klang Valley, Penang, and Johor!
Chou Shih Pi, director of Taiwan Tourism Bureau Kuala Lumpur Office, who attended the launching ceremony, emphasized, "Taiwan has adopted ‘Cycling & Rail' as its tourism promotion theme in the past two years, so of course, bicycles and trains are matched with the beautiful scenery of Taiwan in the advertising design. Furthermore, prior to the pandemic, Taiwan used Salam Taiwan as the theme to actively promote Muslim-friendly tourism, so this advertising vehicle also included Muslim-friendly tourism elements, hoping to further attract Malaysian Muslims to travel to Taiwan.”
Taiwan continues to improve the Muslim-friendly reception environment in order to attract Muslim friends from all over the world to experience the beauty of Taiwan. Major transportation hubs and national scenic spots are equipped with Muslim-friendly service facilities. At the same time, over 200 restaurants and hotels have received relevant halal certification. According to Mastercard-Crescent Rating's "Global Muslim Travel Index (GMTI) 2022, Taiwan maintained its second-place position among the world's non-OIC (Organization of Islamic Cooperation) destinations for providing a Muslim-friendly travel environment has made it the preferred destination for Muslim travellers travelling abroad.
Following a nearly three-year pandemic blockade, Taiwan launched 200 "Oh Bear Go!" themed advertising vehicles in Malaysia for the first time, 120 of which will shuttle in the Klang Valley , 40 in Penang Island, and 40 in Johor. This is also the first time that hundreds of tourism-themed advertising vehicles have appeared on Malaysia streets at the same time. As a result, the Taiwan Tourism Bureau was also awarded the "Most Tourism Brand Advertising Vehicles" by the Malaysia Book of Records. The certificate was presented to Director Chou by Mr Aaron Bong, Deputy General Manager, Marketing & Events, Malaysia Book of Records on the spot.
In conjunction with "Oh Bear Go!" themed advertising vehicles on the road, Taiwan Tourism Bureau Kuala Lumpur Office also specially held a #taiwanmynextdestination Scan & Win Contest effective from now until 26 November 2022.
To participate, one only need to post their photo with advertising vehicles on Taiwan Tourism Bureau Malaysia FB page (@tbrockl), and hastag #taiwanmynextdestination to get a chance to win the prize, which including a round-trip flight from Kuala Lumpur to Taipei sponsored by Starlux Airlines, a premium tablet, and a Taiwan Special Edition Touch n’Go Card inclusive RM 200 credit.
Famous local TV host Xiao Yu, news anchor Tan Chia Yong, and Suria FM radio host DJ Lin were invited to share their impressions of Taiwan and various fun travel experiences at the launch ceremony of Cycling & Rail Themed Travel Taiwan advertising vehicles.
