This World Oral Health Day, Philips Malaysia is encouraging Malaysians of all ages to develop and maintain good oral healthcare habits. Oral disease affects 3.9 billion people worldwide1 and untreated tooth decay impacts almost half of the world’s population (44%). Meanwhile in Malaysia, studies found that only 27.8% of the population visited a dentist in the span of one year, while as many as 37.0% of the population had never received oral healthcare2.
“This World Oral Health Day, we want families to take charge of their oral health to prevent oral diseases, thus protecting their general health. Good habits, such as brushing twice a day for two minutes, are so important in looking after your mouth, teeth and gums. Sixty to ninety per cent of schoolchildren and almost all adults suffer from tooth decay worldwide3, so it is more important than ever to instil good brushing routines early on in life. At Philips, we want to encourage preventive healthcare habits with our Sonicare innovations, which can lead to better long-term oral health, and very importantly, better overall health and wellness,” said Muhammad Ali Jaleel, Country Manager, Personal Health and Health Systems Leader for Philips Malaysia.

Oral health: an essential part of care in early childhood

Sugar is a leading risk factor for tooth decay, and 60% to 90% of schoolchildren worldwide have dental caries.4 Tooth decay is the most common disease in children and has a significant impact on a child’s health and wellbeing. [Review] Cosmetic Lens from Barbie Eyesland

As a person facing laptop everyday, I have Short sight and it leads to blurred distance vision since I was teenager. And as a person that is into beauty, I have been wearing contact lenses for many many years now.

I have tried many brands over the years. And I fell in love with cosmetic lens for the recent years. Reason is simple, they are pretty to wear and my eyes look bigger with it instantly.

Recently I have came across a new brand to me, Barbie Eyesland. I decided to give it a try because their website did attracted me.

I have chosen Oh My Pearl CHOCO 14mm from Barbie Eyesland. The delivery was quite prompt, and the parcel arrived in good condition.
The contact lens from Barbie Eyesland comes in glass bottle. I found it rather difficult to open compared with my usual brand that is using foil cover.

[Review] Murad Age Invisiblur Perfecting Shield Broad Spectrum SPF 30 PA+++

I have been using Murad Age Reform Invisiblur Perfecting Shield Broad Spectrum SPF 30 PA+++ ever since it has launched in Malaysia. It does not only gives me the much needed sun protection, it s a good makeup primer too thanks to it's Soft-Focus Complex technology and silicone based formula. It is a non-comedogenic, colorless hybrid primer that made from skin-perfecting blend of mushroom peptides treats as Soft-Focus Complex primes for up to 12 hours of flawless makeup wear, visibly reducing the appearance of pores, fine lines and uneven texture.
Murad Age Reform Invisiblur Perfecting Shield Broad Spectrum SPF 30 PA+++ is a multi-functional sunscreen that flatters any skin tone. You can use it to blurs, primes, protects your skin from harmful UV rays. It's invisible SPF shields against UVA/UVB damage without streaks or a white cast.
I like how Murad Age Reform Invisiblur Perfecting Shield Broad Spectrum SPF 30 PA+++ goes on smooth and sheer on my skin. However, do not rub it too much because it could cause it to pill. It blurs my open pores and made me skin looks smoother and matte. I like to apply my liquid foundation on top of it because it does made a good primer while also giving me the necessary protection from UV rays.

[Review] Murad City Skin™ Age Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 50 PA++++

Looking for a mineral sunscreen with high SPF? Murad City Skin™ Age Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 50 PA++++ is here for us.

We all know that sunscreen is important in order to protect the skin from the harmful effects of the sun. With the continuous usage of sunscreen, it helps to prevent sunburn and premature aging like wrinkles, leathery skin. However, it is also important to choose a good sunscreen. There is chemical sunscreen and mineral sunscreen available in the market. As for myself, I will always choose the later because mineral sunscreen use active mineral ingredients, such as zinc oxide and titanium oxide that is safe to the skin. They reflect the sun’s rays like a mirror to protect exposed skin.
Murad City Skin™ Age Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 50 PA++++ is a mineral sunscreen that comes with high SPF protection to protect our skin from UV rays for hours. It contains Vitamin C that helps brighten skin, even tone, and correct sun damage.
Murad has tested and proves that the ingredients are safe for sensitive skin and the formula is fragrance free, it is safe for eye area too. The best part is, it has a lightweight formula works well on all skin tones and absorbs quickly into the skin with no ashy residue unlike other mineral sunscreens. It leaves a luminous, pearlized finish which works well under makeup or worn alone. A soft peach tint helps color correct skin to immediately boost radiance and even tone.

World Sleep Day 2019 with AmLife

I got to know about World Sleep Day last year all thanks to AmLife. This year, AmLife International Sdn. Bhd. returned with its World Sleep Day tribute for the fourth year in a row. I am honoured to be invited to the AmLife sleep health showcase event which is co-hosted by the World Sleep Society on 11 March 2019.

Held at Sunway Resort Hotel, AmLife's sleep health showcase has attracted tremendous media, bloggers and guests to attend and know more about how to achieve better health through better sleep. Since I arrived earlier, I took the chance to do the free HRV test and AmPower Platinum Blanket Trial. It was my first time taking HRV test, and I am quite upset with my bad result. Looks like I really have to start taking good care of my health and instill healthy habits.
The AmPower Platinum Blanket Trial was rather interesting. My hand was covered with the newly launched AmPower Platinum Blanket for 15 minutes.
The result was amazing, my hand was sweating like mad just by covering with the AmPower Platinum Blanket without any movement. It proves that the AmPower Platinum Blanket helps us to improve our lymphatic circulation, rejuvenate our skin and enhance our metabolism while we sleep. How cool is that?!

LFF is a highly-anticipated annual French event held here in Malaysia for us to experience with captivating events. Since its inception in 2001, LFF has progressively evolved as an indomitable bridge of cultural exchange between France and Malaysia while successfully establishing its roots in four major cities, reaching over tens of thousands of spectators namely Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru and Kota Kinabalu.
Le French Festival 2019 will be held from 4th Apr 2019 to 12th May 2019. Savour The Taste of The Scottish Highlands

Founded in the late 1800’s, the Tomatin whisky distillery sits at an altitude of 315 metres above sea level just to the west village of the same name and quenches its annual five million litre capacity with the pure waters of the Alt-na-Frith burn. Although it is one of the largest distilleries around, it is still relatively unknown to the outside world.

The name of Tomatin is translated as ‘the hill of the juniper bush’ from Gaelic. The soft waters of the Alt-na-Frith (Free Burn), the distillery’s private water source, which runs clear and pure through the Monadhliath Mountains help to create a Highland Malt with delicate flavours, yet rich and mellow style.
Winner of several notable awards, the Tomatin 12 Year Old is smooth and silky, having been matured in traditional Scotch Whisky, ex-Bourbon and ex-Spanish casks. A rich, fruity aroma hits the nose first which is a prelude to sweet flavours of ripe apples, pears and a subtle hint of nut before the long, pleasantly oily finish. On the palate, this is a very pleasant whisky. It’s malt-forward, with plenty of spice. It’s smooth, but not dull; tasty without a hint of peat.

New Matcha Sakura Tea Series Inspired by the Matcha Traditions of Japan @ The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf®

In recent years, as society progresses and our stress levels increase, more and more people are looking to cultural traditions to enhance their lives. From yoga and meditation to ancient superfoods, many practices from Asia’s oldest cultures are seeing a revival as people strive to embrace a life that is more balanced and holistic. As a result, it’s no longer unusual to find age-old beverages such as Japanese green tea on shelves and in eateries, and greater interest in experiencing the serenity of tea appreciation ceremonies.

Though it’s been around for a long time, many aren’t aware that green tea retains its beautiful colour because it’s unfermented and thus retains more of its nutritional benefits. It may also be revelation to some that Japanese green tea comes in different forms, with the most common being sencha and matcha; sencha is brewed as whole leaves while matcha is ground into a powder and mixed with water, resulting in a creamier flavour.
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® (CB&TL) builds on this revival of cultural flavours with its latest beverage series Matcha Sakura, using ceremonial-grade matcha harvested with first-flush Tencha and stone-milled to preserve its superior quality, says David de Candia, Tea Master for CB&TL. These premium green tea leaves are sourced directly from a small-scale family farm in Shizuoka, Japan that has been around since 1923, in order to keep the traditional harvesting methods alive while the small batches ensure the quality of leaves. The tea leaves for this grade of matcha are shade-grown for almost 30 days, resulting in the vibrant green in colour, before being hand-plucked so that the leaves are not bruised. The leaves are then steamed and deveined, before being ground slowly to powder-like consistency in a granite mill over many hours.
To further enhance its flavour and to bring a new experience to tea drinkers, the matcha is then blended with a Japanese sakura syrup, made from the delicate flowers that bloom in spring, to create two Matcha Sakura beverages: Matcha Sakura Ice Blended® drink (RM17.50/S and RM18.50/R), topped with sakura whipped cream and drizzled with sakura blossom syrup, and Matcha Sakura as a hot or iced latte (RM15.50/S and RM16.50/R respectively).

Grab Reaffirms Commitment to Safety through Collaboration with PDRM

Grab, the leading super app in Southeast Asia, has announced its ongoing commitment to a #SaferEveryday that looks into product enhancements that aims to raise transport safety standards and to support community focused efforts on safety. Through the initiative and initial collaboration with the Royal Malaysia Police (Polis DiRaja Malaysia or PDRM), Grab driver-partners in 35 cities and major townships across Malaysia, will begin to receive time-sensitive and critical NUR Alerts.

The National Urgent Response (NUR) Alert system is a national initiative that helps spread information related to missing children under the age of 12 as quickly as possible. Part of Malaysia’s National Child Protection Policy and Action Plan, NUR Alerts are shared by law enforcement and regulatory agencies when a police report is made indicating the possibility of a missing child being the victim of abuse or other crimes. Through this collaboration, Grab will support the rapid dissemination of NUR Alerts and requests for assistance in finding missing children by alerting it’s network of hundreds of thousands of driver-partners instantly to be on the lookout and inform PDRM if they come across any news.
